John Cowan - Director

John has an extensive network of contacts across the public and private sectors, covering central government, local authorities, advisors, industry and other key stakeholders. He has achieved a high degree of credibility and trust through his knowledge of the waste and other sectors and has a reputation as a pragmatic and influential project leader. His range of experience, having undertaken senior roles in the public and private sectors, gives him a unique insight into projects and the competing priorities and pressures that come to bear.

John's career to date has encompassed time in the Scottish Government, technical consultancy (with RPS Group), PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and, most recently, international waste management company FCC Environment. In June 2013 he set up his own company, Chacefield Associates, providing advice to clients on waste management, renewable energy and sustainability projects.

John's clients have included: The Scottish Government, SEPA, Aberdeen City Council, Aberdeenshire Council, East Ayrshire Council, Glasgow City Council, Highland Council, Moray Council, North Ayrshire Council, South Ayrshire Council, South Lanarkshire Council, Cumbria County Council, Advantage West Midlands, The National Audit Office, Scottish Power, and Viridor Waste Management.
